        Peitz

The Josef Peitz company was founded in 1929 in Paderborn. At first, it only made trailers for the agricultural sector. In 1960, production of Axles, Delta couplings and complete chassis began. In Europe, the first automatic reversing system for torsion bars and rubber spring axles was developed in 1969. The Josef Peitz company became a 100% subsidiary of BPW in 1986. Shortly afterwards, the Peitz name disappeared as a factory.

Peitz produced, among other things, torsion axles and associated brake types (EBG & EBD), these featured a short stroke (40 mm). BPW stopped producing these 'short stroke' Axles and only produced 'long stroke' brake types. German manufacturer WAP has reintroduced short-stroke braking systems. Peitz products can therefore be replaced by WAP parts without any problem. Hence you may sometimes come across the name Peitz/WAP on our site.

Brackets are also no longer produced under the Peitz name due to the takeover. BPW still makes long-stroke brake types, these are made and sold under the name Schlegl. As a result, the type names have changed to:

        • Peitz R 234-76 & WAP W 234-RS
        • Peitz R 205-82 & WAP W 205-RS

Further in our Peitz range, we have a number of Overrun brake dampers and Handbrakes. We also have a tapered bearing set, coupling bellows and retaining rings.
