Schlegl overrun brake - Peitz overrun brake - WAP overrun brake - Europe's cheapest and available directly from stock - e.g. for trailers and caravans

Delta couplings from Schlegl & Peitz

Peitz has been taken over by BPW. The overrun brakes are also no longer produced under this name. BPW still makes long-stroke brake types. These overrun brakes go under the name Schlegl. The type names were changed to: Peitz R 234-76 & WAP W 234-RS, Peitz R 205-82 & WAP W 205-RS.

If you want to replace the overrun brake on your trailer, chances are you will find the data: 'Josef Peitz jun. KG Paderborn' or 'Peitz GmbH & Co KG'. This is a designation of Peitz.

Peitz was taken over by BPW in the early 1990s and the Peitz plant was closed shortly afterwards. Peitz produced, among other things, torsion axles for trailers and caravans. These Axles and associated brake types (EBG & EBD) featured a short stroke (40 mm), BPW stopped producing these 'short stroke' Axles and only produces 'long stroke' brake types.

German manufacturer WAP has reintroduced short-stroke braking systems. Peitz products can therefore be replaced with WAP parts without any problems.

How do I replace a Schlegl/Peitz overrun brake?

Below is a video showing an overrun brake being fitted. Please note that every overrun brake is different and therefore the overrun brake in the video may differ from the one you have.
